Noosa River and Everglades Cruise

Everglades Cruise

Enjoy one of Noosa’s best-kept secrets when you go on a Noosa river and everglades cruise! It’s a half-day cruise in the Noosa Everglades that will show you a new perspective of the Sunshine Coast. There’s plenty of Australian wildlife to see as well as stunning views as you go through the water on the cruise.

You will be gliding across Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharaba to get to the Noosa River which is situated within Great Sandy National Park’s Cooloola Recreation Area.

Once there, you can have afternoon tea at Harry’s Hut. At Harry’s Hut, you can walk through the historic logging site, swim, or even admire the lush forest view. The afternoon tea set includes light snacks, sparkling wine, tea and coffee.

There will be on-going commentary about ecology and animals to be given by your captain on this 4.5-hour cruise from Noosa. The boat is comfortable and sturdy with large open-air viewing windows.

The Noosa Everglades feature numerous tributaries, lakes, and wetlands along the upper Noosa River. You will meet your captain at a convenient location in Noosa and then your cruise will commence. The Noosa Everglades are about 40 kilometres (25 miles) away from Noosa.

The cruise is well-paced since you will be at a faster clip across Lake Cooroibah and Lake Cootharaba and then you will slow down at the Everglades. This is to allow you to soak in the scenery as best as you can.

Once at Harry’s Hut, you can stroll through paperbark trees and cabbage palms. You can also choose to follow a raised boardwalk through the historic logging site.

Afterwards, you will return by boat to your starting point.

Another option is to have a six-hour cruise with the same itinerary. The only difference is that there will be a hotel pick-up, morning tea at Fig Tree Point, barbecue for lunch, and a trip to the idyllic River of Mirrors where there is a wide variety of birds.

The Everglades are often called The River of Mirrors which boasts its unspoiled waterways which you will be cruising through.

In the six-hour tour, you will have a barbecue lunch at Harry’s Hut. The meal includes meat, fish, sausages, fresh salads, and freshly baked bread. You can enjoy a swim and a nature walk as well.

Whilst at Noosa, consider our Noosa Family Holiday Accommodation, Noosa Tropicana. Our Noosa Holiday Apartments feature a wide variety of apartments to suit your needs – from 1 to 3 bedroom apartments that can include a rooftop barbecue or rooftop spa. These are spacious apartments and you can choose which can satisfy your holiday needs. Some are perfect for couples, families, or even corporate guests.
